    Chatham-Kent Chamber of CommerceJanuary 22, 2014 – Guspro Inc. announced today that it has acquired Ice King, makers of ice maintenance equipment for use in curling rinks. Guspro will manufacture the Ice King product line at its headquarters in Chatham, Ontario. "Ice King is known for their outstanding curling equipment and impeccable customer service. We're very excited to continue that tradition under the Guspro umbrella," said Brian Sunnen, Vice President of Guspro.

    Guspro will continue to operate the business under the Ice King brand name, which traces back to 1968 and the invention of the first curling ice scraping machine by Harry Mather in London, Ontario. "This transition will facilitate Ice King's advancement of ice making technologies, and we're pleased that the company will carry on in capable hands. Our customers will certainly benefit from Guspro's R&D capabilities, global reach and eight decades of manufacturing expertise," said Cindy Kortebein, former CEO of Ice King™.

    Chatham-Kent Chamber of CommerceJune 2013 – A local family business with an eight-decade history has been recognized as an important industry with the municipality of Chatham-Kent.

    Guspro Inc. has been designated “Feature Industry” for the month of June 2013 by the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce and Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Economic Development Services.

    “It’s a highlight for the business. It really is a feather in the cap, and it’s a recognition of what they do in the community,” said Chris Appleton, chairperson with the C-K Chamber of Commerce. “They really are a pillar in the community. They’ve been around for so long and are very much a contributor to the community,”

    A Chamber committee went over numerous businesses looking for certain standards before finally selecting Guspro as the Feature Industry for June, Appleton said.
